Alan and I have both trained and handled our own dogs, over the years, winning at
Specialties and Boosters, on both sides of the border.
Nothing is more rewarding and exciting than being breeder, owner, and handler!
Our Past...
Our Carolee Goldenshave won Annual Awards from the GRCC, including Top Stud Dog, Top Show Puppy, Top Show Bitch, two years, Top Field dog and Top Obedience dog.
We have both served on the GRCC executive for over 20 years, in all capacities, including the position of president, which Alan had for 5 years.
We were both awarded a GRCC club, plaque for 'Outstanding Service', mine in 1977 and Al's in 1984.
GRCC National Specialty 1981
Also in 1994, I was awarded with the 'Silmaril Trophy' from the GRCC for promoting human-animal relationships.
Since this award is not often presented, I was honoured to receive it.
We have judged many all-breed sanction matches and sweeps.
Notably, I did the Golden Retriever Club of America's Central Regional Specialty, in 1981, with an entry of over 65 puppies. We loved that trip to Indiana!
Pictured below, right, myself with Kathy (Reiss) Lorentzen after a win with one of her young goldens. Congratulations to Kathy on her great job of judging Golden Retrievers, where there were so many great goldens, at Westminister, 2006.
Kathy was the breeder of Am./Can. Ch. Ocoee Duke of Millard, who was bred to our "Tammy" that gave us our wonderful Ch. Carolee's Cafe au Lait, Can./Am. CD, Can./Am. WC. GRCC OD, "Emily" born Feb. 2nd. 1972.
